SPECIAL PROJECTS
Once a week, the AIDS Service Center assists residents with vocational, educational,
medical, and job-seeking skills to prepare them for independent living.
Coalition for the Homeless - Rental Assistance Program (RAP) assists residents
in locating permanent housing and subsidizes their rent for two years. During
that time, RAP provides participants with vocational lessons which promote employment
and the means to pay their own rent.
Every weekend Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous conduct on-site meetings.
Over the years, residents and their children have participated in field trips
to the Bronx Zoo, Central Park, the Montell Williams's Show, Staten Island, the
Transit Museum in Brooklyn, and the Jazz Music Festival at the South Street Seaport.
